World War II Victory Medal awarded to James Troy Vinzant

World War II Victory Medals were awarded to members of the United States Armed Forces who served between December 7, 1941, and December 31, 1946. Sergeant James T. Vinzant (1920-2016), of Laurel, Mississippi, received this World War II Victory Medal for his service during the war. Vinzant was inducted into the United States Army at Camp Shelby in 1942. He served in D Company, 1st Battalion, 338th Infantry Regiment, 85th Infantry Division, and participated in the Italian Campaign. Among Vinzant’s other awards for his service in World War II are the Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart Medal.
