Nationalist Chinese Air Force Pilot Badge belonging to Wendell D. Lack

Operating from 1943 to 1945, the Chinese-American Composite Wing (CACW) was a joint organization of pilots and crewmen from the United States Army Air Forces and Chinese Air Force. Colonel Wendell D. Lack (1916-1980) of Mize, Mississippi, served as a bomber pilot with the CACW during World War II. American pilots who served with the CACW were issued Chinese Air Force pilot insignia. This Nationalist Chinese Air Force Pilot Badge was presented to then Captain Lack in 1944.
